New Finds at Aldi

If you are already an Aldi shopper, you know Aldi has great prices, lots of organic products, and a fairly limited range of stuff to buy. While Walmart carries close to everything, in a wide range of different brands, Aldi is much more selective. If it's not popular, you won't find it at Aldi. But what they do carry is often as cheap or even cheaper than Walmart.

Do you love Trader Joe's? Aldi is owned by the same corporation as Trader Joe's, and has many things in common with its cousin. Aldi stores are small, like Trader Joe's. And there is an emphasis on organic, natural, healthy stuff, although you will definitely find your share of junkfood. But if you prefer organic chips and juices, you will be happy at both these places.

I currently shop at Aldi every week, while we still hit Trader Joe's on occasion, to stock up our favorite things which are not available or just not the same at Aldi.

Here are some of my recent favorite things to buy at Aldi:

Peanut Butter with ground flax and chia seeds. ($2.29) Crunchy and delicious, you can get your super foods mixed right in! If you only do organic peanut butter, Aldi also carries this, but you will have to mix in your own flax and chia seeds...

Organic Blue Corn Tortilla Chips. ($1.89) This might not be the healthiest snack, but at least these are organic and non-GMO. Plus delicious! Keep your portion size small, and eat them with something healthy like venison chili.

Superfood Granola. ($2.99) Okay, yes, this contains added sugar. But only about 8 grams of added sugar per serving, so not horrific. Full of superfoods like dark chocolate, non-GMO whole grains, chia seeds, and coconut oil. If you're craving something naughty, this granola could even fool you into thinking you ate something bad!

Grain-free Dog Treats. ($2.79) I get these every week for our two akitas. They get so excited about these treats. They're grain-free, which is important if your dog has sensitivities to wheat, corn, or soy. They're small enough that you can even hand out 2 or 3 at a time.

If you visit Aldi and give any of these items a try, be sure to leave a comment below to let me know how you liked them! Happy shopping!
