Normally this blog is all about the food. And there is a good reason for that. If you are trying to change your health, your body, your moods, your entire being and your life, there is nothing that makes a bigger or faster impact than the stuff you put into your mouth every day. You can try to exercise your tiny heiny off, and that is fantastic, but it will never have the same impact as your diet. Just try eating a boatload of crap and then exercising it off. Never going to happen, my friends. Okay, maybe if you are a teenager. And extremely lucky. Then maybe.
But my topic for today is not food. With Valentine's Day approaching, I am hoping to steer our thoughts toward something other than food. Well, something other than the sugary junkfood with which we often celebrate this holiday.
So what else is there?
If you are looking for an awesome gift for yourself or a loved one, I suggest exploring the world of natural skin care! These days there are so many companies out there creating all-natural and organic skin care lines. Even Target has an aisle filled with all-natural skin and beauty products!
Some of my favorite brands and specific products include:
*Burt's Bees: Carrot lotion. The Milk and Honey lotion is also quite nice.
*Dr. Watkins: Lemon lotion. Smells exactly like a lemon meringue pie!
*LUSH! (Apparently we have this store in the Columbia Mall!) Everything from this place is awesome! My hubby bought me a bag full of their all-natural treats and couldn't wait 'til Valentine's Day to give them to me. I am already using the delicious lemon soap! Yum!
*Dr. Bronner's: Love all the liquid soaps, especially the peppermint and the almond.
*Yes to Carrots! Made in Israel. I love the carrot body scrub, shampoo, and conditioner.
Perhaps some people might find soap or shampoo to be a weird gift, but there is nothing I like better than stuff to slather on my skin that smells fantastic. I'm guessing you might, also. So this Valentine's Day, treat yourself to a product that will satisfy your senses without adding any calories to your diet!
