Yes, it's that time again! Back to Bootcamp in the Park!
Next Wednesday, June 3, will be the first bootcamp class of the season. Each summer, I switch up my teaching schedule and move my Wednesday morning class outdoors.
You may be thinking this is crazy. Working out during the Maryland summers with no air conditioning? No fans? No screens to keep the bugs away?
Yup.
Of course, bootcamp is not for the wimpy. If it were, we'd have to call it something else. Like fluffykittencamp.
Bootcamp is only for the bravest exercisers! Those who are willing to go where most workouts only dream of going.
Do you cringe at the thought of sprinting up hills? How about hanging from monkey bars and performing pull-ups? Box jumps onto benches? Burpees? One-legged squats? That's right, people. Squats on only one leg.
If just the mention of these activities makes you want to pull the covers back over your head, you may not be ready for bootcamp. I recommend jumping out of bed, tying your sneakers, and going for a brisk jog. Once you break a good sweat, try adding some push-ups. Yeah, you're gonna be a little sore tomorrow. Quit whining! Make like a sneaker and just do it!
Bootcamp is good for you. You are animal. You were meant to move like one. Sitting in a chair typing on your keyboard all day long will only make you old before your time. It's time to get up, get out there, and sweat!
Bootcamp classes are available everywhere. If you live in Howard County and would like more information on my bootcamp, please leave me a message below!
