Keto Products for Carb Cravings

If you're on the ketogenic diet, you're keeping your carbs super low. Maybe as low as 20 grams of carbs per day. That means no grains, no fruit (except maybe a few berries), no root veggies, no sugar, no legumes, no milk, and of course nothing made with wheat flour like bread, muffins, cookies, etc.

My daughter is currently living with us while she heals from surgery, and she's doing keto. My husband and I are cooking all her meals, so we are becoming very knowledgeable about the ketogenic diet. I've made loads of salads topped with chicken, tuna, steak, and salmon. But what to do when you're on keto but you're craving a sandwich? Or pasta?

Luckily, there are products out there for keto people.

Believe it or not, you can purchase bread with ZERO CARBS! You'd think zero carb bread might be totally weird and possibly disgusting, but this bread is very normal. It looks, smells, and tastes pretty darn close to regular bread. And yet, it contains only fiber. The ingredients aren't horrible chemicals, either. This bread is made from natural types of fiber. And although the bread looks white, it will NOT clog up your system. Quite the contrary.

In addition to bread with zero carbs, you can also purchase bagels (!!!) with no net carbs.

In case you haven't heard the term "net" carbs before, this means the total grams of carbs MINUS the total grams of fiber. Fiber doesn't count as it is not actually digested but simply passes through the system. Fiber doesn't raise insulin levels.

Another product for keto people craving carbs is konjac noodles. These noodles are made by several different companies. Again, they contain zero net carbs.

Do these noodles taste like regular pasta? No. Not even close. I can't imagine serving them with marinara sauce and parmesan cheese. They have basically no flavor whatsoever. But if you like Asian style noodles with Asian type sauces, you will be happy with these noodles. Just go heavy on the seasonings!

Konjac noodles are ridiculously low calorie, containing mostly just water and fiber. They are natural, and don't contain any artificial chemicals or additives.
